Reza really likes to eat and drink, but loves to serve and entertain most.


During his 31 years in the San Francisco hospitality trade, Reza has held many positions including Bar Director, General Manager and Operating Partner. In 1999, he managed one of The City’s first artisanal cocktail programs at Gordon’s House of Fine Eats. His talents have contributed to the launch of multiple notable endeavors and garnered numerous accolades, including a 2009 SF Chronicle “Bar Stars” feature. 


Launched in 2011, Reza has expanded the services of Ananas Consulting from Mill Valley, California to Miami, Florida. Amongst many beloved projects, he has conceived the bars of the historic live music venue Sweetwater Music Hall and La Mar by Gaston Acurio at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Ananas Consulting has worked with W Hotels for 3 years to help refine the bar experience at the San Francisco and Hollywood properties. Since 2015, Reza has also proudly represented Casa Noble Tequila. He feels honored to advocate on behalf of the historic spirit of Mexico as a member of the national brand ambassador team.


Reza is a veteran member of the esteemed national trade organization, United States Bartender’s Guild, for 14 years. After serving as President of the Northern California Chapter of the USBG, he was re-elected to three terms as Western Regional Vice President.  During his 6 years on the National Board of Directors, he served on several important committees to guide this evolving organization. As of January 2019, Reza stepped away from national governance and was voted by peers to advise on a national advisory council to work with chapter leaders all throughout the US.


Beyond education, governance and leadership, Reza has extensive experience in judging national cocktail competitions for programs such as Diageo World Class, Bacardi Legacy and Bombay Sapphire Most Imaginative Bartender. He has international experience as a competitor and judge in the IBA Panamerican Cocktail Competitions.


Ananas, is the Farsi term for pineapple, the international symbol of hospitality.

"Substance, Service, and Style" is the theme for every Ananas project; be it a restaurant or bar launch, informative seminar, or as “Master of Ceremonies,” you are sure to find all three elements expertly represented.


Reza lives in Pacific Heights with his wife Haven , visits his mom weekly, and loves the color pink.
